We Ride London

Sunday 16th July 2017 saw the second We ride London Awareness ride. It started off at Epping forest tea hut where Mike from We Ride London gave a pre-ride talk about the mornings events and how the ride would be organised.

We had the welcome help from the Unity Support Riders who marshalled the route and guided us along the way!

Around 150+ riders from all around London turned up to make their voices…….or engines heard in our campaign to which we hope will lead to:

  • More action against bike theft and bike-jacking

  • Exclusion from charging such as the £12.50 emissions charge

  • Universal use of bus lanes as pioneered by TfL

  • Adequate secure motorcycle parking

  • Protection of lane widths to allow safe lane filtering

We rode into the city of London and across Tower Bridge and on to the rally point at the Blackheath Tea Hut where we were met by Keith Prince, chair of the Transport Committee for the London Assembly, who pledged to take the issues to City Hall.

All in all it was a great day and we even made the Metro Online.
